Sustainability

US Buildings are the Biggest Asset Class & the Largest GHG Emitter

  • We spend over 95% of our lives inside of buildings, yet most buildings have less intelligence than a typical car

  • Buildings are the single largest category of annual greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions

  • This comes at a time when owners are facing unprecedented market and operating headwinds

  • Existing technologies are limited to providing simple occupancy and counts, whereas the marketing needs true spatial intelligence technology to solve these problems

Scanalytics has a sustainable and affordable solution:

  • Our technology actively reduces a building’s energy waste by automating energy use with true occupancy

  • Our solution does not require full floor coverage (it’s often less than 2%,) resulting in a payback period of less than 1 year and energy waste reduction of up to 35% annually

  • Over the typical lifetime of a commercial floor, our system reduces an average commercial building’s emissions reduction by the equivalent of 400 metric tons of CO2

Traditionally, a square yard of flooring comes with a cost to the environment in the form of CO2 emitted during the production process. On average, a square yard of flooring “costs” over 51 kWh (or about .02 metric tons of CO2) to produce

That means that the flooring for the average building will cost the environment nearly 42 metric tons of CO2, not including maintenance

Efforts like material recyclability help reduce the negative impacts of manufacturing, but ultimately there is much more room to improve.
